A place to slow down

This is Greenwood: an oakwood, a hillside, a shoreline and an ancient well on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

Set on the shores of Loch Sunart, Greenwood is a place to slow down, breathe deeply and spend time outdoors. There are 70 acres of private woodland and hillside to explore, paths leading down to the shore, and a quiet abundance of wildlife all around.

You might spend the morning walking through the woods, watching the birds from the cottage or swimming in the loch. You might head out to explore Ardnamurchan, or simply stay where you are, light the fire and do very little at all.

Somewhere a little different

Our cottages are wonderfully unique, each with its own character and its own relationship with the landscape.

Uisge Beò is light-filled and spacious, nestled into the rock beside a tumbling waterfall.

Camas Bàn is a lovingly restored stone croft and byre, sitting right on the shore of its own sheltered bay.

Both are comfortable, thoughtfully made and designed to help you settle in and enjoy the place.

Room to explore

Greenwood stretches from the woodland down to around a kilometre of private shoreline.

Paths lead through ancient celtic rainforest and up the hillside to a viewpoint overlooking Ardnamurchan, Morvern and Mull. Along the way there are birds, wild flowers, rare lichens and wildlife to notice, and the shore is there for swimming, paddling, exploring rock pools or simply sitting and watching the water.

There is plenty to do here, but there is no need to do very much at all.

Wildlife on the doorstep

Greenwood is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife.

Pine martens, otters, red squirrels, deer, seals and a huge variety of birds can all be seen around the grounds. White-tailed and golden eagles are regularly seen in the area, and the woodland and shoreline provide ample opportunities for watching and photographing wildlife.

From ancient oakwoods and quiet beaches to the lighthouse at the western tip of the peninsula, there is plenty to discover. You can explore by foot, by car or by boat, then come home to the quiet of Greenwood.

Light-filled and spacious Uisge Beò has been designed to make the most of its surroundings. Large windows draw the landscape inside, creating a calm and comfortable space. You will fall asleep and wake to the sound of the tumbling waterfall and sweet bird song.

A lovingly restored croft and byre, Camas Bàn Cottage has exposed stone walls, is delightfully comfortable and cosy, and sits right on the shorefront.
