Greenwood Accessibility Statement 

We have prepared this Access Statement so that you know what you can expect when you arrive. If you need further clarification about anything, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Greenwood Retreat is a 70 acre property including 3 self-catering holiday lets, our residential home and various outbuildings. Located at Ardslignish on the B8007.

GENERAL

Pre-arrival information and details regarding access to the properties will be shared via our Bookster Guest Area link once you have booked your stay. Unfortunately, at present, we do not have accommodation that is purpose built for wheelchair access. There are no ramps or chair lifts. Trained assistance dogs are welcome in Camas Bàn Cottage free of charge. There are no services for guests with hearing or visual impairments. There are rough footpaths through our 70 acres of rugged countryside, woodland and shorefront. The paths can be steep and slippery in places. You are welcome to utilise the walking sticks provided in your property. All facilities and walks are used at your own risk. 

Children

Babies and toddlers can be accommodated in Uisge Bèo and Darach Mòr, however, there are no stair gates. Unfortunately, due to the layout and size of Camas Bàn Cottage babies and toddlers in cots cannot be accommodated. The byre accommodation that sits 7m away from the main Camas Bàn Cottage is ideal for two youngsters provided parents are satisfied that they can sleep on their own. A child monitor (not provided) can operate between the two buildings.

Connectivity

Mobile phone reception can be poor, Wifi is available in all properties.

UISGE BÈO

Formerly known as The Folly

Entrance to the Property and Outside Areas

  • Main door is located on the right-hand side of the building, underneath the carport. It has one step with no ramp or handrail.

  • In the sitting room, there is one door out onto the back deck and one onto the front terrace. A wooden walkway joins the two around the back of the building and also leads up some stairs to the back of the carport area.

  • 4th door from the bedroom out onto the balcony.

  • Table and two chairs on the upper balcony and the lower terrace.

  • Covered car port for 1 car on the East end of the building beside the main door. Second car parking space to the front and west end of the property.

Kitchen and Dining Room

  • Kitchen is on the main level after entering the building through the main door.

  • Kitchen is custom made to standard heights. There is a mix of upper and lower cupboards, drawers and a pull out larder.

  • Half fridge and freezer are under the workbench.

  • Gas hob, electric oven

  • Oven doors open outwards.

  • Double sink with a lever tap.

  • Glasses and crockery are in upper cupboards.

  • Doorway leading to utility room

  • Dining area is adjacent to the kitchen and has a custom, in-built table with 2 chairs. There is space for 3 people to dine comfortably.

  • Lighting is natural daylight and by night ceiling lights

  • Flooring is terracotta tiles with underfloor heating.

Sitting Room

  • Located down a 7, curved and tiled stairs from the main floor.

  • Recliner and a two-seater sofa.

  • Low coffee table and some higher side tables.

  • Small TV with remote control, DVD and CD player and Freeview.

  • Wood-burning stove.

  • Lighting is natural daylight and by night ceiling lights

  • Flooring is terracotta tiles with underfloor heating.

Bedroom

  • Located up 2 short flights of wooden steps.

  • Super King size bed which can be split into two single beds.

  • Lighting is natural daylight and by night ceiling lights

  • Flooring is carpeted.

Bathrooms

  • Main bathroom is on the main floor. Large bath, shower over bath, WC and washing basin.

  • Anti-slip bath mat provided and one grab rail at the end of the bath.

  • The second small WC and hand basin is located halfway up the stairs to the bedroom.

Utility Room

  • Front-loading washer machine.

  • Front-loading tumble dryer.

  • Drying pulley.

  • Sink and cupboards.

DARACH MÒR

Formerly known as The Loft

Entrance to the Property and Outside Areas

  • Main door is located on the right-hand side of the building and has one step with no ramp or handrail.

  • Another door is located on the front of the property from the sitting area out onto the deck.

  • Outdoor table and chairs set on the deck.

  • One car parking space a few meters down from the main door on the east end of the property. Additional car parking space down by the double garage/storage area on the west end of the property.


Kitchen and Dining Room

  • The kitchen is on the main level after entering the building through the main door.

  • The kitchen is standard height. There is a mix of upper and lower cupboards and drawers.

  • Half fridge is under the workbench. Freezer is in the kitchen utility area.

  • Gas hob, electric oven

  • Oven doors open outwards.

  • Double sink with a lever tap.

  • Glasses and crockery are in upper and lowers cupboards.

  • Dining area is adjacent to the kitchen and has a circular moveable dining table with 2 chairs. 2 additional chairs are stored in the property should they be required.

  • Lighting is natural daylight and by night ceiling lights

  • Floor is covered with laminate.

  • Door to storage cupboard.

Sitting Room

  • Located up 3 steps.

  • Two low armchairs.

  • Low coffee table.

  • Small TV with remote control, DVD and CD player and Freeview.

Sleeping Area

  • Located just beyond the sitting room and can be separated from the room by curtains.

  • Separate small room accessed via a door adjacent to the sleeping area.

  • Hanging space, shelves and a dressing table.

  • Main bathroom accessed via a door from the living area.

  • Second WC and hand basin is below the loft, next to the Utility room.

THE MAIN COTTAGE

Entrance to the Property

  • Main door is located at the front of the building.

  • On the ground level on the right-hand side after entering through the main door.

  • The kitchen is custom made to standard heights. There is a mix of upper and lower cupboards, drawers and a pullout larder.

  • Half fridge is under the workbench.

  • Gas hob, electric oven.

  • Oven doors open outwards.

  • Double sink with a lever tap.

  • Glasses and crockery are in upper and lowers cupboards.

  • Lighting is natural daylight and by night ceiling lights

  • Floor is covered tiled and has underfloor heating.


Sitting Room

  • On the ground level on the left-hand side after entering through the main door.

  • L shaped sofa.

  • Small Smart Wifi TV with remote control.

  • Wood-burning stove.

Dining area

  • Part of the main, one plan living area.

  • In-built semi-circular table with 2 chairs, and space or an additional 2 chairs.


Sleeping area

  • One step up from the ground floor.

  • Double bed.

  • Can be separated from the room by curtains.

  • In-built drawers and a hanging rail.

  • Floor is carpeted.

Bathroom

  • Accessed via a door from the open plan living area.

  • Short tub with a shower, WC and hand basin.


THE BYRE

Entrance to the Property

  • Main door is located at the front of the building.

  • The byre is 7m away from the main cottage.

Sleeping area

  • Bunk bed - lower bed width = 4ft, upper bed width = 2ft 6.

  • TV with DVD player.

  • Floor is carpeted.

  • Lighting is natural daylight and by night ceiling lights.


Bathroom 

  • Shower, WC and hand basin.


Utility Room

  • Located in the Byre and accessed from the main living space in the Byre.

  • Half size freezer.

  • Front-loading washer machine.

  • Front-loading tumble dryer.

 Outside Areas

  • Stone terrace with seating in front of the byre.

  • Covered wood storage area and a large lawn area.

  • Car parking spaces are on the left hand side of the drive way as you approach Camas Bàn Cottage. A car can be driven down to the level of the cottage but will have to be reversed uphill to the parking space to be turned around.
